Like many people I have spoken to in Toronto, I found my dentist through Opencare, a company that offers rewards for clients signing up to local dentists, doctors, etc. I think I got a $50 Visa Gift Card when I signed up for mine. The dentists paid a fee to Opencare who also work with companies for the rewards, and Opencare adds them to their roster of supported local companies.
When I got an email from Opencare about shooting their headquarters in Toronto, I initially thought it was a customer emailing list, possible promoting some new businesses or doing a checkup on one of their successful sales.
I was happy to learn that they were interested in having me in to shoot some interiors at their headquarters in Toronto as well as capture some lifestyle shots of their staff from around the workspace.
Their office is located in downtown Toronto where they have a whole floor of a building. The company employs many staff from around the world who get to work in their awesome dynamic and unique space. It is playful, open, practical and functional.
The staff have a great looking workspace with many areas for relaxing while you work. They also get a catered lunch each day which I took part in the day of the shoot.
There are many communal areas that are arranged like living rooms, spaces for computer desks and private conference rooms for brainstorming sessions.
I shot most of the spaces with my Canon 20mm 2.8 lens with some shots using my Canon 100mm 2.8 and my 70-200mm 2.8 for the candid shots of staff at work.
