I was recently hired by a friend to shoot at Casa Loma in Toronto, the city’s famous castle. My friend’s client was President cheese and they wanted images of their booth setup as well as guests interacting with their product. I don’t do event photography very often but I was available and love the venue.
The event was Soul in the City, where the public is invited to a dinner and a show in Casa Loma’s garden. Guests can grab a table inside or out and enjoy music from the host and his alternating guests. The event happens Mondays in the summer.
The venue is a giants castle but it was built as a home, not as a defensive placement. Henry Pallett built the home before running out of money to finish it. Today, the building is one of the city’s top tourist destinations and hosts creative events throughout the year.
